Welcome to Squaredrum.com ("Site"), operated by SQUAREDRUM LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information, and what rights you have under data protection laws including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)/California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

a) Personal Information (Collected With Consent)

We may collect personal information when you:

Download free music or digital content
Purchase music, merchandise, or services
Sign up for Drumroll, our Friday email
Submit forms or contact us directly

This may include:

Postal address
Payment details (processed securely through third parties, where applicable)

b) Your GoSquare Account

You can sign in on the Site with your GoSquare account (the same account as our GoSquare app) using a one-time code sent to your email. When you are signed in, we store:

Your email address
The songs you like and the playlists you make
The artists you follow
The songs you download and when, so we can keep free downloads to 20 a week per listener

This is used only to show you your own library and to apply the weekly download limit. It is stored with Supabase, our account provider, and your sign-in is kept in your browser's storage until you sign out. The GoSquare Privacy Policy at squaredrum.com/gosquare/privacy covers the account in full, including how to delete it. You can also email privacy@squaredrum.com and we will delete your account and everything linked to it within 30 days.

c) Automatically Collected Data

When you visit the Site, our hosting provider (Vercel) records basic technical information in its server logs, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the referring website, so it can deliver the Site and protect it against abuse. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers. The Off the Square page shows pictures loaded directly from the publications it links to; like any website serving an image, they can see your IP address, but we send them no information about you.

2. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We only process your data when we have a lawful basis to do so, including:

Consent (e.g., when you contact us or create an account)
Contractual necessity (e.g., fulfilling downloads or purchases)

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not share your browsing with advertisers.

If you sign in to your GoSquare account on the Site, your browser keeps your sign-in session in its local storage so you stay signed in. This is strictly necessary for your account to work, and it is removed when you sign out or clear your browser data. Because we use no optional cookies, the Site does not show a cookie banner.

If we ever add optional cookies (for example, for analytics), we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Drumroll (our Friday email)

If you sign up for Drumroll, we keep your email address and use it only to send Drumroll: new releases every Friday and news from Squaredrum. It is stored with Supabase and sent through Resend, our email provider, and never sold or shared for anyone else's marketing. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask to be removed at any time by emailing privacy@squaredrum.com or replying "unsubscribe". If you reply to Drumroll or to a GoSquare sign-in email, your message passes through Resend and is forwarded to our team so we can answer; automatic replies such as out-of-office messages are discarded.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. You can request deletion at any time.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. However, no system can be 100% secure. Use of the Site is at your own risk.

9. International Data Transfers

If you are located outside the United States, your data may be transferred and processed in the U.S. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) where required.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware of such data collection, we will delete it promptly.
