J Cruz

J Cruz makes pop for the conversation everyone's avoiding. Glossy hooks, easy grooves and a voice that sounds like it's leaning on the doorframe, half flirting and half calling your bluff. His songs live in the space between "nothing happened" and "so what was that?"

The album is called Let's Talk About It, and it does. Someone left a jacket behind on purpose ("Still Got Your Jacket"), someone else is pretending they don't remember ("Don't Pretend You Forgot"), and nobody is fooling anybody ("You're Not That Subtle," "I Saw You Look"). There's a limit to the games ("I'm Not Your Backup," "I'm Not Asking Twice," "I'm Done Guessing"), but there's also the soft side underneath: the one who's still there when the guessing stops ("I'm Right Here," "I'm Yours If You Want Me").

Cool on the outside, all in underneath, J Cruz is part of Wavelight Records, Squaredrum's home for pop, created under human creative direction with AI-assisted music.

J Cruz is an AI artist: a virtual persona created at Squaredrum and released on Wavelight Records. The voice, images and music are made with AI tools and shaped by our team.
